Art quarter Bethanien and Mariannenplatz, Berlin
Mariannenplatz, named after Princess Marianne of Prussia, is located in the Kreuzberg district of the Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. At the northern end is St. Thomas Church, whose main entrance is illuminated by an original 9-flame lever gas lamp. Today, Mariannenplatz is the headquarters of the Bethanien Artists‘ Center and the district’s cultural office.
The modernization of the outdoor lighting was intended to create a stylish lighting situation that does justice to both the Bethanien art quarter and the old parks at Mariannenplatz.
For this purpose, the existing historical lights were renovated and equipped with our energy-efficient HIS.LUX LED module. It was important to the builders that the new lighting was based on the look and aesthetics of the old gas lights. As part of the renovation, all historical lights were first dismantled and renovated in our metal workshop. In order to ensure that the lights continue to function for a long time to come, all lighting components were replaced with our His.lux LED modules including a specially made round reflector.
